Mix Park
Route 2 South
Oregon, IL
Saturday, June 23rd
10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Come one, come all to our second annual sidewalk painting event at Mix Park in Oregon, Illinois. We are planning to spend a beautiful summer day creating fun and exciting paintings on the sidewalks surrounding Mix Park. The event is open to all ages. All you need is a creative spirit and the desire to spend the day outdoors with other like minded people. $15 reserves your block of the sidewalk along with tempera paint, 2 brushes and chalk to sketch your design. You will need to bring your ideas, additional brushes, a palette, water container and rag.
The T-shirts for this event can be ordered using the registration form. You will be bringing joy to hundreds of people as they stroll the park on Saturday while you work and on Sunday, the day of the 14th Annual Fields Project Fine Arts and Crafts Festival.
When you arrive at Mix Park at 10:00 am on June 23rd, you will pick up a bag with 5 pints of washable tempera paint – white, black, red, yellow and blue. There will also be 2 paint brushes – 1- ½” brush and 1- 1” brush to paint your 5’ X 5’ sidewalk block.
Things you will want to bring with you:
- Palette – this could be a muffin tin, dinner plate or any nonabsorbent surface.
- Brushes – other sizes that you think you will want in addition to the 2 brushes provided.
- Water container – a plastic container for water to rinse your brushes. If you also bring a jug of water it will save you trips to refill your water container.
- Rags – these would be to wipe your brushes on when you are changing colors.
