Sculpture Trail
The sculpture trail began 100 years ago, in 1911, when Lorado Taft dedicated the monumental 48' "Blackhawk" statue to the people of Oregon. Taft commented, "I was simply immeasurably grateful that it had been my privilege to do something to make that little community interested in itself". Well, it worked! And we have been adding to the sculpture trail ever since. It now consists of 14 sculptures, 10 of which will be showcased on our Sculpture Trail Bus Tours.
The two hour tour led by a docent will depart at 1:00pm from the Oregon Park-West, upper level area, 701 Oregon Trail Road on the day of the Art Festival, Sunday, June 24th. The cost of this introductory tour is only $15. All tickets must be purchased at the Information Booth on the day of the festival. To make reservations call 815-734-6075.
